Musical Biography for Rebecca Wilson – Rebecca Mack‑Wilson** Rebecca Wilson–Rebecca Mack‑Wilson is a celebrated music educator, administrator, and community arts leader whose career spans more than four decades of inspiring students, uplifting families, and strengthening communities through the transformative power of music. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, she has dedicated her life to proving that fine arts education—when paired with strong leadership, compassionate guidance, and purposeful instruction—can elevate academic achievement and nurture the social and emotional growth of every child. A proud graduate of Southwest High School (1978), Rebecca went on to earn her Bachelor of Music Education (1983) and Master of Education (1997) from Texas Christian University, where she later continued her professional studies through specialized fine arts and instructional programs. Her extensive certifications include All‑Level Music (PK–12), Elementary Music, Orff Level I, Kodály Level I, Gifted Education (K–12), and Mid‑Management Administration, reflecting her commitment to excellence in both musicianship and educational leadership. Rebecca’s professional journey is marked by distinguished service across Fort Worth ISD. She served as a beloved classroom teacher at Como Elementary for 15 years before rising into leadership roles as Assistant Principal at Westcreek Elementary (Exemplary), West Handley Elementary, and Sunrise‑McMillian Elementary. Her expertise in curriculum and instruction led her to impactful roles as an Instructional Specialist at S.S. Dillow and I.M. Terrell Elementary (Exemplary). From 2006 to 2015, she became widely recognized as the Music Specialist at Edward J. Briscoe Elementary, where her program earned distinction and her students flourished under her creative direction. A dynamic leader beyond the classroom, Rebecca has served as a non‑profit director, minister of music, grant writer, instructional specialist, and city volunteer, always using her gifts to uplift others. Her professional development includes training at the Ron Clark Academy, Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, the Institute for Learning, Texas Fine Arts Summits X & XI, and workshops led by renowned music educators such as John M. Feierabend and Anne Fennell. Her professional affiliations reflect her deep roots in both music and education: Texas Christian University Alumni Association, Music Teachers National Association, United Educators Association, National Teachers Association, Texas Music Educators Association, and the Black Musicians Association of Tarrant County. Rebecca’s excellence has been recognized through numerous awards, including: Texas Education Agency Master Teacher Outstanding Teacher of the Year Outstanding Young Women of America Award City of Fort Worth Volunteer Award Black History Award Sickle Cell Anemia Community Service Award December Teacher of the Month Harkins Mini‑Grant Award Elementary Music Instructional Support Program Grant (2013) She was also featured on the cover of the 2024–2025 Employee Retention and Engagement Handbook and highlighted in Music K‑8 Magazine (Nov/Dec 2015). Rebecca’s heart for service extends far beyond the school walls. She is the founder of Rebecca Mack Music Ministries, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to sharing music, compassion, and hope with the community. Her outreach includes singing in nursing homes and medical facilities, supporting the Elizabeth McGee Scholarship Fund, volunteering with Meals on Wheels, leading the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Community Choir, organizing an annual community toy drive, and partnering with World Vision (2017–2025) to support global humanitarian efforts.
